ABSTRACT
The biosphere and its environmental chemistry were introduced in Chapter 1, Section 1.9. This chapter will discuss the biosphere, emphasizing its biochemistry largely with respect to how it relates to the environment and especially toxic substances that may affect living organisms, the topic of toxicological chemistry.
