ABSTRACT

One of the reasons why Lean Change Leaders do not successfully achieve deployment is because they do not have good understanding of the team that needs to be put in place to get the agenda going. Building the team is not only about hiring a set of people who have Lean certification but also about the Lean Change Leader making a conscious and careful choice based on the role that the team members will play. It is this set of people that will support the Lean Change Leader’s efforts going forward. It is this core team that will drive the Lean engine in the company, blessed by and under the supervision of top management. Figure 11.1 summarizes the core team that should be around a Lean Change Leader.
