Introducing your proposal W hen a publisher receives a book proposal, it will usually be looked at by a commissioning editor. They will probably receive a large num ber of proposals, so you need to ensure that their initial look at yours makes them w ant to read more. A brief introductory paragraph will help them to assess quickly w hether your proposal is likely to be of interest. You should include a working title and a brief description of the scope of the book and its content, w hy it is needed, the audience, style and enough about yourself to dem onstrate w hy you should write it.
