ABSTRACT
This chapter looks at the ethical and legal issues surrounding work with young people. It will examine the issue of consent; its defi nition, the debate surrounding the age of consent and what the law says on underage consensual sexual intercourse. Child protection policy and procedure is summarised and the dilemma between maintaining confi dentiality and child protection examined.
