If you use an agency to provide your simulated patients, it is worth checking with the agency what level of training they have received, as this can vary consider ably. You could reasonably expect that they have been trained to develop a basic role and to give constructive feedback. However, there are so many different ways simulated patients may be used, and therefore so many different ways they may be experienced in working, that it is important to match your own specific requirements with the experience and level of training of the simulated patient. You should be very clear as to your expectations o f the simulated patient, there fore, when booking through an agency.
