ABSTRACT

Finance (or lack of it) continued to be a major problem for the FM. The Finance Committee met on 23 February 1923, with Lane in the Chair. This meeting was dominated by distribution of funds to the 35 Schools and Hospitals which had participated in postgraduate teaching during 1921-22, and the Committee con sidered that, in keeping with one of the 'original purposes' of the FM, a portion of the funds should be put 'at the disposal of the Social [my italics] Sub-Committee'.1
