ABSTRACT

General practice tutors are at a critical stage of development. England and Wales have had a system of GP tutors for many years, organised and funded through deaneries from MADEL. The network of GP tutors was formalised and remunerated after the introduction of the PGEA in the 1990 Contract in Eng land, Wales and Northern Ireland.1 The situation has always been different in Scotland where no funding has been identified for such a network.
