ABSTRACT
Pituitary is the ‘master gland’, secreting hormones that control most of the body functions. It is a pea-sized organ present beneath the hypothalamus in the sella turcica-a depression at the base of skull. It is made up of two types of tissues forming the anterior and posterior pituitary gland.
