ABSTRACT
The pons is continuous with the midbrain above and the medulla oblongata below. Present in the pons are several cranial nerve nuclei: the motor nucleus and a sensory nucleus of the trigeminal nerve (CNV), abducens nucleus (CNVI), facial nerve nucleus (CNVII) and the vestibulocochlear nuclei (CNVIII).
