ABSTRACT
The neutrino is one of the most pervasive varieties of particle in the universe, yet it is also one of the most elusive. It has no electric charge, has long been thought to have no mass and to corkscrew through space at the speed of light, passing through the Earth as a bullet through a bank of fog.
