ABSTRACT

In this chapter we discuss the principal adjunctive or additional therapies used in the management of patients with leukemias, lymphomas or myelomas, to make it easier for patients to tolerate specific anti-cancer therapies or to ensure their administration in a timely manner. We also discuss the role of clinical trials (also called experimental treatments). It is also opportune to emphasize the importance of good hygiene on the part of the patient and staff members, regular hand cleaning and avoidance of contact with infected individuals.
