ABSTRACT
The diagnosis of asthma is not always straightforward.
Unlike many other conditions in medicine, the diagnosis of asthma is usually based on typical features in the history with no absolute discriminatory examination or laboratory findings. Careful history taking therefore remains the ‘gold standard’ diagnostic tool.
