ABSTRACT
Botanical diversity (19, 20, 30, 41, 42) drives ecological processes, pleases the human eye and generates intense and increasingly acrimonious discussion regarding exploitation and ownership. The documentation, management, exploitation and restoration of diversity are subjects of urgent debate, fuelled by a realization that plant genetic resources are eroding at an increasing rate.
