ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION This chapter encompasses three separate lung diseases not covered elsewhere in this book, namely bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, and lung abscess. Other infective conditions, such as pneumonia, tuberculosis, and opportunist lung infections, are covered in Chapter 10, and empyema is included in Chapter 9.
