172 A one-year-old, male Miniature Poodle was presented for simultaneous urination from the anus and urethra, hematuria and cystitis. A lateral fluoroscopic image of the contrast cystogram and retrogade urethrogram is shown (172). Contrast is shown passing from the urethra at the pelvic brim into the distal rectum (arrowed). i. What is the diagnosis? ii. Describe the best surgical approach to the anomaly. iii. What other surgical procedure is recommended to be done at the same time? iv.
