ABSTRACT
Regional lymph node metastases may occur in palpably normal lymph nodes. Regional nodes are assessed with a combination of palpation, fine-needle aspiration and cytology, and biopsy for histologic analysis (N). Lymph nodes with afferent drainage in this region are the mandibular, parotid and medial retropharyngeal nodes.
