ABSTRACT

There is a wide variety of vascular abnormalities, both congenital and acquired. These are manifest as alterations in the distribution of blood vessels in the skin.

DEFINITION AND CLINICAL FEATURES Dilatation of lymphatics resulting in fluid-filled blebs. Lymphangioma circumscriptum (255) is a developmental abnormality which appears as clusters of small blisters or warty papules filled with a mixture of blood and lymph. Lesions can be present at birth, usually on the trunk or proximal limbs, or may appear in childhood or early adult life. There may be an extensive deeper component in the subcutaneous tissue or muscle.
