Appendix 3 Recommended Storage Conditions The conditions given are those which permit the longest possible duration of storage for the particular commodity, without undue loss of quality and allowing sufficient 'shelf-life' after the product has entered the marketing channels. If, however, a short period of storage is intended, it is often feasible to store produce at higher or lower temperatures and relative humidities than those recommended in the table.
