ABSTRACT

The organisms included here are representative examples of the major pest species found throughout the world that are the hosts of the beneficial organisms that feed in or on them. In most instances, a natural enemy is closely associated with its host pest, so this chapter should aid the identification of both. The pests are described with the damage they cause (symptoms), their life cycles, and an indication of the organisms that may be found attacking them (beneficials). Pests feed on plant or animal tissue, causing damage that, in many instances, results in economic crop loss.
