ABSTRACT
Dosage form is a drug delivery system designed to deliver the active ingredient to the body and, upon administration should deliver the drug at a rate and amount that assures the desired pharmacological effect. This entry examines the various dosage forms for pharmaceutical drugs and discusses their respective functions and applications as well as their strengths and weaknesses in terms of drug delivery.
