ABSTRACT
The process of formulation, whether for oral products, parenterals, or other pharmaceutical products, is complex and involves the interaction of many ingredient and process variables. Neural networks provide an alternative approach. Neural networks are mathematical constructs that are capable of learning, for themselves, relationships within data. This entry reviews the key neural computing technologies and their application to formulation and formulation optimization.
