ABSTRACT
Statistical outlier identification and remediation is one of the oldest issues with data analysis and reporting. There are many causes of outliers including measurement error, sampling error, incorrect recording, or misspecification of the distributional assumptions. This entry first focuses on methods of visual data presentation, such as histograms, box plots, and normal probability plots, then moves to a series of graphs and charts that illustrate the application of several methods of data presentation.
