ABSTRACT
Tableting materials need to be optimized in line with new demands. At the same time, tooling requirements with respect to adhesion-reducing finish and coating have become more important than ever. This entry first presents some general terminology of tooling, and then moves to a discussion of tooling for rotary tablet presses and materials, manufacture, finish, and pressure tolerance. The entry also provides several visual examples for further illustration of key concepts.
