ABSTRACT
Before the court can make a hospital order or a probation order with a requirement for medical treatment, a psychiatric report is required (see s 37 of the Mental Health Act 1983; para 5, Sched 2, of the Powers of Criminal Courts (Sentencing) Act 2000.
