ABSTRACT
The procedure for a committal under s 6(2) of the Magistrates’ Courts Act 1980 is therefore as follows. Prior to the hearing, the prosecution will have served on the defendant(s) the bundle of prosecution witness statements (assuming these statements have not already been served on the defence pursuant to the advance information rules, as to which see Chapter 3, 3.12).
