ABSTRACT
This is basically the process of deciding whether an EIA is necessary for the project concerned. This screening narrows EIA to those projects likely to have significant environmental impacts. Screening is largely determined by the laws governing EIA in the country involved. Whether or not a particular project requires EIA is subject to screening criteria and thresholds. It is worth mentioning that it also depends on whether LPAs apply the criteria.
