ABSTRACT
Intellectual property, as an area of law, has existed for many centuries. However, it is only in relatively modern times that its importance has become apparent to business managers and has become studied in depth. It tends to be a little difficult because it deals with intangibles. The topic is also referred to as ‘industrial property’, which reflects its background with the industrial revolution.
