ABSTRACT

The same section defines ‘family violence orders’ as meaning orders made under a prescribed State or Territory law to protect persons from family violence. These prescribed laws are listed under Family Law Regulation 19 and elsewhere (see below, pp 128-31). The Act requires the court to consider incidents of family violence and family violence orders in determining what is in a child’s best interests. (See paras (i) and (j) of s 68F(2).) (See above, pp 85, 92, 93, for a discussion of this section.) Part VII, Division 11 of the Act deals with the relationship between contact orders and family violence orders.
