ABSTRACT
The receiving party can discontinue detailed assessment proceedings without permission before he has requested a detailed assessment hearing. However, the paying party can then apply to the appropriate office for an order about the costs of the detailed assessment proceedings (PD 47, para 36.5(2)); the likely order on costs being that the receiving party pay the paying party’s costs of the detailed assessment proceedings.
