THE EC DIRECTIVE ON INSIDER DEALING
Pages 1

On 13 November 1989, the Council of the European Community adopted a Directive designed to co-ordinate the prohibition of insider dealing throughout the Member States of the EC. Thankfully, that directive is not a particularly long document. It is, however, important and led to a restatement of the law on insider dealing in the UK. To use its full name, the directive may be cited as the Council of the European Communities Directive of 13 November 1989 co-ordinating regulations on insider dealing.60
