ABSTRACT

These are companies which cannot be classed as commercial companies because either their nature or their object is not recognised by law (mainly Article 632 of the Commercial Code) as being ‘commercial’ in the strict sense of the term. However, they need to be given some attention in the context of this chapter, because the nature of their activity is financial and involves trading in the broadest sense of the term (eg agricultural co-operatives).
