ABSTRACT
In many circumstances, it will be appropriate to use the nearest equivalent concept in the target language. Thus the term Conseil d’administration can be safely translated as ‘Board of Directors’: even though the powers and function of these two organs are not exactly the same under the two systems, they are sufficiently similar to avoid any danger of misleading the reader. The same applies to the term exécution du contrat, which can safely be translated as ‘performance of the contract’.
