ABSTRACT
The Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) consists in any particular case of a High Court or county judge or a recorder (in England and Wales) or a Court of Session judge (in Scotland) sitting with lay representatives of management and unions. As in the employment tribunal with the consent of the parties, the judge and one lay member may sit to hear a case. Further, a judge may sit alone to hear any appeal from a chairman sitting alone.
