ABSTRACT

J v C (1969) HL The infant respondent, aged 10 at the time of the proceedings, had lived in England continuously since 1961 with the foster parents. The appellants, the child’s natural parents, were Spaniards residing in Madrid. Orders concerning the child’s future custody were the subject of appeal by the parents and were dismissed. The parents appealed to the House of Lords, who were being asked to grant them the custody, care and control of the boy, with the right to take him out of the jurisdiction.
