ABSTRACT
Within the UK context the expression ‘interests of the individual’ may be taken to mean the residual liberties enjoyed by individuals within our State. In essence, one is permitted to do whatever one wants to do, subject to the legal restrictions imposed upon that freedom for the protection of society as a whole.
