ABSTRACT

This collection of essays on developments in international and comparative corporate insolvency law is a timely and useful addition to the growing body of legal writing in the field which is now broadly described as ‘cross-border insolvency’. It is a field of growing importance in a world where, with things such as electronic information networks, electronic trading, electronic funds transfer and the like, the distinction between matters of local and global concern is rapidly diminishing. Whilst these developments may not, in themselves, lead to a blurring of the distinction between municipal and international law, there are many areas where the two are coming into ever closer contact. One of these is insolvency law in its application to matters where an insolvency has international aspects or ramifications.
