ABSTRACT

The Italian Civil Code was issued in 1942, when advertising in Italy was limited to a few press releases and a few street billpostings. So it comes as no surprise that legislators did not regulate so called advertising contracts governing relationships among advertisers, agencies and media. As the market developed, operators in this field of activity adopted the Anglo-Saxon original contractual schemes, while looking for a reasonably successful harmonisation with the general principles of Italian regulations.
