ABSTRACT
Lawyers do have rights of audience in Russian courts all over the country, although there is a slight difference between an advocate (an Attorney) and a lawyer. Both the lawyer and the advocate have the right to represent clients in court, but it should be taken into consideration that the role of a lawyer is to assist his client in court as a person possessing legal knowledge, whereas the advocate has the right to represent his client’s interests in court.
