ABSTRACT

Section 1(2) of the Act requires the court to take the view that any delay in determining a question which relates to the upbringing of the child is likely to prejudice his or her welfare. The rule applies to any proceedings where the welfare of a child is concerned. The requirement encourages the parties in a case and the courts to take decisions about children without delay.
