ABSTRACT
Where the police or the CPS have decided that this is not a case where administering a caution would be the appropriate course of action, and the case proceeds to the prosecution stage, the matter will be heard either in the youth court, or the adult magistrates’ court or the Crown Court depending on the circumstances of the offender and/or the offence.
