ABSTRACT
The following are common clinical features present in diseases caused by Aspergillus fumigatus: • haemoptysis – which may be copious and even life-threatening; • lethargy; • weight loss.
Investigations will show: • characteristic chest X-ray and CT scan appearances of an opacity within a
cavity; • sputum grows Aspergillus; • positive serum precipitins to Aspergillus.
