ABSTRACT
The majority of respiratory physicians practise both as acute general medical physicians and as respiratory physicians.
They will have attained specialist recognition for general internal medicine and respiratory medicine from the Royal College of Physicians, through specialist higher training and accreditation of the Higher Specialist Medicine Training Committee of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of London, Edinburgh or Glasgow.
