ABSTRACT
When implementing a guideline it should be clear that this is not a process which begins once the guideline is published. The elements that go into producing the guideline in the first place are key to its implementation. This includes ensuring that all the stakeholders are involved in the process and that ownership is developed widely. The guideline should be based in evidence appropriate for the setting in which it will be used.
