ABSTRACT
The system of law is largely based on South African Roman-Dutch law, although customary law remains important in some areas.
The superior court system comprises the High Court and a Supreme Court that sits in Windhoek. Since 1995, Namibia has had a fused profession, although the Society of Advocates of Namibia operates a de facto Bar.
