ABSTRACT

Example: you order goods on 31 May by telephone. You are supplied with the goods on 23 June. If you receive the information with the goods you have until 30 June to cancel. However, if you do not receive any written notice of your right to cancel at all, you have from 31 May until 30 September to cancel. That should give you plenty of time to think it over!

Where you contract to purchase a service the rules are slightly different. Were you provided with the written information by the date the contract was concluded? If so, you have seven working days after the contract was made in which to cancel. Where the information is provided within three months following the date the contract was made (not the date the service was carried out), you have seven working days after you receive the information to cancel. Where the information is not provided before the contract date or within the following three months, you have three months and seven working days after the contract date to cancel.
