ABSTRACT
Disputes often involve complex issues and acrimony. They also often occur between disputants who have an ongoing relationship. Mediation provides the disputants with an opportunity to resolve their dispute quickly and inexpensively, in a way that maintains (if not improves) their relationship. It also provides a structure that allows them to explore creative options and overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
