ABSTRACT
The defendant must serve an acknowledgment of service not more than 14 days after service of the claim form (CPR 8.3(1)). The acknowledgment of service must state whether the defendant contests the claim and if he seeks a different remedy to the one claimed and, if he does, what it is (CPR 8.3(2)).
