ABSTRACT
In the previous chapter, I used my research findings to sketch out a possible communicative framework for community penalties. My question in this final chapter is whether such a framework could be made to work in practice: what would need to be changed and what benefits might accrue. I start by distilling from the research findings presented in earlier chapters the implications for how punishment might be understood and developed in terms of communication.
