ABSTRACT
As the various torts have been described, we have looked at defences which are particularly relevant to the individual torts. It is useful to draw the rules together as a reminder that although a particular defence might be more often used in relation to a particular tort, nonetheless many are of general application. This chapter begins, however, by looking at defences which have not previously been considered.
