ABSTRACT
‘Playgardens’ integrate structures designed to facilitate exploratory, imaginative, and interactive play with plants, trees, and the natural features of the site. This encourages children to develop positive early experiences in nature, even though they may be confined to congested urban environments. It is suggested that playgardens can help to encourage the appreciation of, and a caring attitude toward, nature.
